As most of my readers are aware, I’ve started writing my next book about nudism and naturism, temporarily entitled Becoming a Nudist. As I was going through the journey of an aspiring nudist and foraging in my experience, I realized I needed to include the perspective of nudist women.
We hear a lot about gender unbalance in nudism. The number of men seems to outweigh the one of women. However, for the last years, a lot of women have made their voice heard. Of course, I’m thinking about Alexis, Alice, Donna, Doria, Emma, Felicity, Hannah, Joy, Lana, Linda, Lins, Nancy, Viviane and many others who have become more and more vocal as nudist spokeswomen. I salute the focus put by AANR and Linda, BN and Donna, and the fact that the FFN has elected a woman, Vivianne, as its “presidente”.
However, many efforts remain to be made to bring more balance in nudism and naturism, and attract more women. I’m also thinking to all the couples where one is a nudist but not his or her spouse. If it happens in same-sex couples, it seems more frequent with women in heterosexual partnerships. I hear a lot about men who would love their spouse to participate in nudist activities, the latter being totally against leaving their clothes.
Those are the reasons I need to include women’s point of views in this book. I am a fervent advocate of the cause of women across the world and in nudism, and I think the words will be more powerful if spoken by women, for women. Hence my call to all nudist women to answer in their own words the following questions:
- How did you discover nudism/naturism?
- What were your initial reactions?
- What convinced you to try and embrace the nudist/naturist lifestyle?
- What do you think stops women to try and embrace nudism/naturism?
- What would be your three pieces of advice for women regarding nudism/naturism?
