Who would take a shower clothed? The question was asked on a twitter feed some days ago following a policy in a public swimming pool forbidding patrons to shower naked. Considering the fact that wearing a swimsuit is totally ridiculous, showering with one is pure nonsense.
Taking a shower at home is a naked activity. You would never (well I hope) think of wearing anything while showering. For textiles, nudity must remain private. Hence, the policy to wear a swimsuit while showering. However, this is a recent behavior. Back in time, swimming pool showers were places you could get naked without attracting attention.
Prudery has crept slowly, making the human body shameful. I sincerely think that people seeing naked body as shameful deprives humans from their humanity. There’s nothing wrong with being naked while showering, and this should be the norm. Naturists need to continue evangelizing the message that nudity is a normal, natural and healthy state of being.

Yes it’s very silly forbidding nude showering also when going for an exam at doctor’s office doctor is also afraid of nudity I can’t figure out how they expect to examine a patient who is not nude
I was recently surprised to learn that nude swimming was required when the YMCA was boys/men only: http://www.frank-answers.com/frank-answers-about-swimming-naked-in-the-ymca/
In the late 60s, early 70s it was still permitted if women weren’t present but it eventually became mandatory for everyone to wear bathing suits. It just makes you realize that wearing a bathing suit swimming makes about as much sense as wearing one in the shower!
