Sport and Fitness Must-Haves

I’m a fitness enthusiast. I’m exercizing daily to stay fit. However, I’m almost exercizing fully naked. Almost, as sometimes I go to the gym for strength training and have not yet found a naturist-friendly gym. In all cases, whether you’re working out naked or not, you need some material. Winter is a good moment to refresh equipment and benefit from some past-holiday sales. Here’s a selection of personal items I own and refresh frequently to ensure an always-on fitness experience.

Gym

The first must-have at any gym is a comfortable mat. The Peloton Workout mat below is Bentley level for comfort and convenience. However, if, like me, you workout or practice yoga daily, having a comfortable mat is a no-brainer and an investment that will recouped quickly.

A set of weights is another investment that you can keep for life. I really enjoy the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells as they don’t take a lot of space and are really easy to manipulate, particularly changing weights.

The one element that I love is my cork yoga block for stretching. You can find many yoga blocks made from plastic material, but the cork option is more sustainable.

Hydratation is essential while working out. I always carry an insulated tumbler to keep my water fresh. Drink a lot!

Running

Running is my preferred cardio activity. Although I’m almost exclusively running naked, I need shoes, socks, cap and smart watch to benefit fully from my runs. Let’s start with socks! A good pair of socks can really make a difference. Prioritize good running socks for comfort.

Shoes of course have a crucial role to play in your running comfort and performance. I mostly run on rocky trails and have a preference for Brooks for years. I like the brand and they fit will to my feet and style. The most important aspects of running shoes are you need to be comfortable and your feet well maintained, while providing the right support, and being adapted to the surface you’re running on.

In summer, socks and shoes are my only really necessary running accessories with the hat. In summer a cap, in winter a beanie. I love my beanie with light for winter night runs. As days are shorter, it’s not always possible to run during the day, so a lighting option is a must.

Gloves are essentials for naked winter runs. If you’re running with a phone, you’ll need touch screen fingers gloves, like the ones below.

Amazon is also proposing winter sets: beanie, scarf and gloves for a cool price. A must for any winter runner, whether naked or not.

And the last piece of compulsory equipment is the phone armband. I tried multiple models and I always come back to a simple stretchable and washable one.

Equipped this way, i can run naked in all seasons. A lot of people are asking me if I’m not crazy and, of course, cold? To be frank, I don’t run in freezing temperature. In the South of France, yes, we can have a few days of freezing temperatures, but we generally stay above 5 degrees Celsius and around 10-15 during the day. Second, when it’s cold, I generally warm up 10-15 minutes indoor until I break a sweat. Then my body temperatures adapt very well to cold conditions and I can leave naked or with just a running shorts.

Hiking

When I have a day or half-a-day ahead of me and the weather is nice, hiking is another great activity to consider doing the naturist way. Let’s start with the essential for nude hiking: boots. A good pair, like the Nortiv below, allows you to walk confidently on any surface without hurting your feet.

If you’re day hiking a small comfortable backpack will work brilliantly, like the Skysper 15-liter here. it will fit all that you need including extra clothing in case temperatures are dropping.

In winter, I like a good coffee on the trail. A strong insulated bottle is a must, like the Cressi one which will keep you coffee/tea/soup warm all along.

And finally, a rain poncho. If it’s pleasant to walk naked under the rain in summer, it can become really cold in winter. The best is then to cover the whole body with a poncho and stay comfortably naked underneath.

Of course, gloves, beanie and armbands, as shown in the running section, are good equipements for hiking too.

Outdoor Games

I love playing outdoor games with friends in the garden or at the beach. There’s something truly invigorating about the fresh air and the sun on our skin that enhances the joy of being active together. Here’s a selection of articles that can ensure a fun and sweaty time with your friends and family, the nudist way, allowing us to embrace nature in all its glory and fully enjoy the freedom it offers. A good frisbee is just the start.

The Pickleball set is an excellent choice for both beginners and seasoned players looking to enhance their skills. Playing the naturist way is fun and this set provides everything you need to enjoy the fast-paced, engaging sport of pickleball. It’s a great way to stay active while having naturist fun with friends and family.

Fun and typically French: the Petanque is more than just a game; it’s a cherished social activity deeply woven into the fabric of French culture. Played on gravel or dirt surfaces, this popular pastime involves players aiming to toss metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden target called a cochonnet. The simplicity of Petanque makes it accessible to everyone, regardless of age or skill level, and it’s the perfect nudist game, allowing people to connect and share a moment of leisure in the warm sun, reflective of the French ethos of enjoying life.

In conclusion, embracing a nudist lifestyle while prioritizing sport and fitness can significantly enhance your well-being and enjoyment of outdoor activities. With winter presenting a unique opportunity, it’s the perfect time to refresh your equipment and explore new activities like snowshoeing or winter yoga. Investing in quality gear that caters to your nudist preferences not only enhances comfort but also encourages confidence in fully experiencing nature. Remember to choose versatile, weather-appropriate items that complement your lifestyle, ensuring that your fitness journey remains exciting and invigorating, regardless of the season.
